That was me when I found my first carnelian it was first fist sized (really palm sized but it was all I could talk about for the rest of the day...) Amethyst anything is cool. I've gotta go cabbing now... Family is coming up from Portland tomorrow so I've got to squeeze in some rock time. -Nicholas  I remember one family get together we had at our house. I started slabbing rocks. My wife came out and was pretty ticked off at me. Once I told her it was HER father who wanted to see the slices, then it was "ok"! LOL I'm going to blame him every time from now on! LOL I don't have any saws running (yet) but if I did, I'd show it off too. Those boxed-up 10 inch Lortone saws look pretty nice. I don't want oil in my garage though. I think I'll get really in to the demonstration lol. Maybe I can just start cabbing when showing the shop off  Nobody's here yet but they will be when I get home today. I dreamed about rocks, so they're bound to be in the future!  |

That Teepee is SO cool! You're so lucky to have found it. Definitely a treasure that gets displayed.  Thanks Robin!! I was super grateful to have found this one! I did face one half and was going to face polish that half...but the other half I'm going to clean up and probably leave it "as is"... I remember one family get together we had at our house. It's been awhile since I've had a reason to bump this thread!! Went to Teepee Canyon with holajonathan this last week. I found this amazing beauty!! I do believe it's pretty rare to find a Teepee Canyon Agate with Amethyst!! The nodule split right in half as I was trying to knock off some bedrock off the nodule! To bad it's cursed... I said it before... that is an amazing specimen! What kind of curse are we talking about? Like you can only find Fairburns and no other kind of rocks again, until you donate some blood to the rock gods... or something like that? |

jasoninsd, those are some great slabs for cabbing. My respirator arrived today so I can start cabbing my copper conglomerate and tiger eye tomorrow or Saturday. Summer is going to be a very laid back time that I can get a monstrous amount of cabs turned out. I hope I can get my saw running soon too. *If not I'm buying a harbor freight tile saw. Lol! -Nicholas

I've been chomping at the bit for those materials because they're some of my favorites. I haven't worked then because I like my lungs and don't smoke or anything Sorry about your hands, I wouldn't survive no hand use for a few weeks. I'm too high energy to sit still for too long in case you haven't noticed. I might look for a trade on my saw for an older 8 incher or something. My saw apparently sells for $350 new!!!! No clue why but I'm fine with it... |

Love it! All those little speckles are amazing. Thanks Robin!  I LOVE the measles on this one! I couldn't believe the amount of little "orbs" all over this one. Wow there's a lot going on in that one. A blown up picture would make a hell of a poster. Thanks Lunk! This one would make a good poster...or a "fun" 5000 piece puzzle! LOL |

I just got back from Toilet paper canyon. Took me 5 minutes of digging in the freezing cold. Thought these were pretty nice for virtually fracture free slabs. Nice "finds" Pinocchio! LOL All three of those would make decent cabs!! |
