Hello there!

Several years ago I encountered larimar for the first time. A woman had a beautiful pendant on her necklace, with a colour and pattern I'd never seen before. I was in love.

For years I have longer for a piece of larimar of my own. I don't really wear jewelry anymore, so I've had my eyes peeled for rough/slabbed pieces, or really anything that would make a nice keepsake, that I can gaze upon and admire for years to come.

Lately I've been watching a couple of pieces on Ebay.ca (I'm in Canada), and I've browsed Etsy a bit, but haven't had anything jump right out at me. I don't want to spend a fortune, either, but I'm willing to shell out $50 for something I'm in love with.

My birthday is coming up around the Summer Solstice and I'd like to get a piece of larimar for myself. From me, to me, since I don't have any close friends or family who are as into rocks as I am - and I wouldn't trust someone else to pick out something for me anyway!

All this to say - do you have suggestions for where I should look? Besides physically travelling to the Dominican Republic, is there somewhere I can find reasonably-priced pieces (small slabs, even polished pieces if they're affordable)?

Among other things, they have a selection of tumbled stones, slabs and rough material.
