Hi, I live near Burbank, CA.
Shipping is so expensive when purchasing tumbling grit online. Is there someone in the SFV area where I could purchase some silicone carbide tumbling grit 60/90 and 12/220? Don't need huge quantities, but this would save me the exorbitant shipping charges.
Thanks Very Much, RRR

Amy, thanks for your response. I'll check out the Santa Monica guys. I'm aware of Johnson Bros., but they're a long haul for me and I have someone closer than them I can always go to.
BTW, Amy, while I have your attention, what's the idea behind grits being rated 60/90 or 120/220? Is there a combination of grit sizes in the powder? In the 220, for example, I really need that finished workpiece after tumbling to be in the 220 range, not 120. I tumble plastic guitar picks, not rocks, so the smoother the better. That would allow me to go up from there to at least 400 and maybe even 600.
Thanks Much! Scott

Reynoso Lapidary and Jewelry has been a 20 year+ reliable source for small 1# bags of grit for me. I would recommend a call to verify he has the size in stock before you make the trek. He usually has interesting rough to make it a great trip, too. DJ Reynoso Lapidary 6741 Sepulveda Blvd Van Nuys, CA 91411 818.787.3108
