I need some help. Never seen anything like this before on my land. Appears to be a mix of Jasper, Quartz, Quartzite and ?. Mostly about a 7 hardness, but some of the light tan areas are maybe a 6. Harder, maroon areas have a waxy feel. Blue areas appear to be Quartz. In some ways it reminds me of Owyhee Jasper, but there is no way that could be in Central WI. Many WI rocks really have no agreed upon names, other than local ones, so ID is a challenge. I am stumped. Thank you. Dry. Wet.

I'm no help with the ID, but it is a cool looking rock. Are you planning on cutting it or putting it on the rock pile? Nice to be able to go out to your own yard for rock hounding!

I imagine it is Quartz in the form of chert/jasper with layer banding and iron (hematite) staining.
