Victor, the backlighting looks great! It really does show some often unforeseen aspects to the material! Fantastic!

I think they turned out very well! The backlighting brings out a lot more of the three-dimensional structure and almost give it an x-ray effect for some of those plumes.

Stefan, the phone will work and so will a led light bulb with the subject placed above and all areas blacked out around the object so there is no incidental light. $30 will buy a decent light table where you can control intensity and kelvin and is easier to use.
