I was cutting my batch of Botswana Agates the other day and ran across these two. I love the seeming oddity to the fortifications in the Botswana. The other rock is NOT a Botswana, but came in with the batch. It is definitely SOFT! If anyone has any ideas on that second one, I'd love to hear/read some of them. No clue as to its origin as it was a mix-up with the Botswana Agates. The last pic is the exterior of the unknown...

Great pattern in that Bot!
Clueless about the second one. I think I'd call it a "clunker".

They both are rare deadly poisonous specimens and you need to save yourself by sending them to me so I can properly dispose of them.

That is one of the coolest agates I’ve seen, incredible! I see some fun cabs coming out of that other rock. It could be described as a porphyritic or amygdaloidal rhyolite nodule. I didn't want to be so bold as to make that first comment...but I was thinking the same thing! LOL I might slab one half and leave the other half as a tumble piece... Thank God I'm not on a timeframe to make a decision on that! LOL They both are rare deadly poisonous specimens and you need to save yourself by sending them to me so I can properly dispose of them. I was feeling a little light headed after cutting that agate open...I thought I was just "swooning"...who would've thought I had actually ingested some kind of toxin?!? LOL - Thanks for being willing to take one for the team Randy!

That Bot is amazing!! I can’t wait to see what you end up doing with it.
The other one is certainly interesting in its own right.

LOL These rocks are like two kids...one an honor role student...and then there's the one that belongs in detention! LOL

When your bands morph into wavy gravy . . . I know certain acids can have differing effects on rocks...but I'm thinking this particular rock tried the wrong kind of acid! LOL

That is exactly what was running through my mind when I saw them. The second one does seem to be the Ralph Wiggins on the rock world.

The Botswana is amazing. Could the second one be copper ore? It has that look to it.

I was trying to think of a good example...but you nailed it perfectly with that one! LOL Never would have thought the first one was a Botswana. Wowee, zowee !! Thanks. Thanks Pat! It was a definite shocker when that one came off the saw! The Botswana is amazing. Could the second one be copper ore? It has that look to it. Thanks Beth! I'm not an expert on copper ore (or any of this stuff for that matter! LOL), but I don't think it is. That third picture shows the "nodule-like" exterior of the two halves - and I've never seen any pictures of copper ore in that type of "nodule"...

Botswana on drugs. I've never seen anything like that. Thanks for sharing! Okay...so you see it too then!?! I had to post pictures to make sure someone else saw it was the rock...and I wasn't just seeing it because of those weird mushrooms my wife put in the stir-fry the other night! (Just teasing...she didn't really make stir-fry! )

That's a mighty fine and unusual Bot. The pattern reminds me of squirrely rhyolite, sorta. Really cool!

I hope you hang on to at least one of those for yourself! What a terrific surprise Jason! Thanks RD! The more I think about this one, I believe I'm going to take one slab off one half. I don't think I can get more than one slab off that half...two would be nice though! The other half will be tumbled...eventually. I'd rather tumble it than face polish and leave as a specimen. I'd be more apt to pick it up more often if it were in the "favorites" dish sitting here on the coffee table - than if it were a "specimen" piece.
