Yay! for you, stefan. I know you will put it to good use. But have to comment on the orange sticker... The one that reads "Inspect for damage before accepting." That might actually been helpful if it was delivered to you, and not just dropped off on your porch. Once the driver has left, pretty much your word against theirs if you do find damage. Fortunately, it looks like eveything is included and intact. Be glad you are not "enjoying" SoCal weather this week. Current temp is 92 degrees, and supposed to stay hot for at least the remainder of the week. Enjoy!

I'm imagining this is what you looked like when you got yet another REALLY cool toy! I can't wait to see what you cut first with big beast!

Yes that was my thought also. Like you said thankfully no issues.

You must have been a good boy for a lot of years to get all of those Christmas presents so early, congrats!

Mine sat on the porch for 3 months. It was too cold for me to consider clearing off my work bench. My 16 inch Covington sat in it's box for 6 years, when I retired. My wife said buy a saw and I said ok. While working, I had limited time to work and would rather grind. The rocks weren't going anywhere.

I'll bite; is the clue the 14 written on the box making it a 14" blade or did I miss some other clue? Having a brand new saw is a real luxury. Enjoy it but keep it exercised (and dirty).

LOL Yes a new Highlnad Park 14" saw. As for me being a good boy, well yes. I have worked hard all my life (ok most of it lol) and I do overtime when offered (to a point), and save all my bonuses and any "extra" money I get (odd jobs, garage sales). We had a very strange summer last year in that my wife normally does not get paid during the summer (guidance counselor) but last summer she was actually laid off and was able to collect unemployment (which we saved as we did not know what the fall school season would bring). Well she went back to her old job (after working at a different school for the first 2 months of the school year). I was working crazy overtime so we had a extra income and paid off all our bills (except my car which was a super low interest loan). So this was some rewards for having a very cost effective year. I also got an inheritance that was a lot more than I thought it would be, so I was able to pad my retirement plan and spend some of the extra.

When a person gets a set of really good cookware, the question is what are you going to make?
So I ask, what are you going to feed the saw?

Ahhh the great question! Well the saw will dine on a chunk of obsidian as a first cut. Then a hunk of Dino doo. After that well probably some agate chunks. I put it all together this evening and fired it up (dry no rocks). Runs super smooth and quiet. Hopefully tomorrow after work will be first cut.
