Got out of work and rushed home to try out the saw. 3 gallons of oil and a little snowflake obsidian and I had these. I don't even know what to say as the saw worked flawlessly and the cuts were amazing. I made a few more slices but the slabs are sitting in some Kitty liter right now. The obsidian barely even chipped the paint off the ends of the blade.

Whoot Whoot!!! That is SOOO awesome! Pretty cool that not even obsidian made a mark on the blade! What was the "approximate" time it took to cut a slab?

It was about 10 to 15 mins. Slabs are about 4" long. I still need to learn the auto shut off better as the saw would run a couple mins after the slab was done.

I love seeing these new saw photos when they are so shiny and clean. I bet it won't be too long until that saw is looking well used. And hopefully it will still be working so flawlessly!

This thing is built like a tank (and I know as I build parts for tanks!) The only thing I am not sure about is the screws they use for the motor mount. They are simple machine screws and the Phillips heads are going to get mangled. I may replace them with hex heads (or Allen heads), if the need arises. I expect this to end up in the hands of some future lapidarist once I'm dead and gone, and he/she will be commenting that you just can't beat how well these old diamond saws were made and how they cut so much nicer than the modern water jet saws lol.

Loaded up a Dino Doo from Randy and here is the end cut. Slab #1 cutting as I type. Love this stuff and the saw. Yes I'll be cutting all day I think (we have family coming over, but no reason I can't keep it running as it is so quiet.

Now, no rock is safe. Beautiful cuts on some pretty nice rocks.
