The material is either atypical Mescalero because it isn't brecciated or a first cousin. There was a sulfur smell when grinding but not as strong as other Mescalero. I had to do a lot of grinding on the high dome and it about 9mm now. I thought I ground off the pattern but looking at the preforms, none changed that much. The cab that was the most work is he least interesting. The patterns will much nicer polished. That's for tomorrow. Low, medium and high domes

I emailed John at altamontbead on Etsy. He digs/mines Mescalero. He said that Mescalero is always brecciated and the material looks like wonderstone of Hickoryite. I looked at those material and what I have is still unknown.

its Mascalero my friend discovered this deposit years ago Thanks for the info. What John is digging now is brecciated. I looked at pictures of Wonderstone and Hickoryite but the match was still best against Mescalero/Blue Dream.

The Blue Dream and Mescalero John is digging is very similar with a wide variety or brecciation. I gave up on buying rough because of all the fractures. His pictures of slabs on Etsy are very good and show problems. Rough is risky.
