My grandson is going to Washington state soon to visit his girl. He wanted me to make a jellyfish necklace for her. My original plan was to use a moonstone, but mine wasn't suitable so I used a labradorite. I was going to net it and hang the tentacles off the netting, but that didn't work after many efforts and lots of swear words. So, with time running out, I decided on this. DH says it looks like an octopus instead. Oh well, it is what it is. The tendrils are 18g hammered, so they should hold up fairly well- if she isn't too violent with it. I finished a project with julieooly but forgot to take pics. The next project is a bracelet for DH. I made him a viking knit a few years ago, but he is so rough with jewelry at work that one wire broke and needs another. Hopefully, I can get it done for his birthday. Still needs patina and tumbling. The lab is really nice. Too bad it's so hard to photograph.

Nice job, Tela! Jellyfish, octopus, whatever .... it's a sea creature!

I think you nailed it, Tela. She'll be very happy with it, I'm sure!

That's definitely a jellyfish. She’s going to love it.

I am so disappointed. I thought you had a fossil Jellyfish. Though the pendant is nice too.

Nice and I think it is great. I don't know how you would have done it but if the tentacles were hanging down from multiple points instead of on location it might have a more jellyfish like appearance to the grandson.

I gave it to my grandson yesterday. He loves it. He leaves tomorrow, hopefully his girl will love it, too.

Looks great, and jellyfish-like to me.
And, since you mention an octopus... Happy cephalopod week.

rockjunquie - did your grandson give it to his girlfriend yet? I haven't talked to him, yet. He said briefly to my daughter that she liked the gifts he brought I'll talk to him more when he gets back.
