Ott is hot or maybe not because never heard of an Ott lite! have heard of carey plumes and those are a fine shine display !

Mohs, the lite is definitely warm but the material that I photograph is quickly removed. I use a piece of glass that is about 6" square from an old outdoor lamp as my shelf with about 1" of space above the bulb. The bulb is an elongated 'U' shape daylight spectrum light. Ott is a brand name.

Victor, those pictures show the absolute beauty in these materials! I love the back-lit pictures that you post, but these pictures really make me drool! (I guess that was my way of saying I want to keep seeing the back-lit pics, but these are just gorgeous! )
