EDITED 7/12/21 8:53pm(ish) - I think was have positive ID's on everything now! Thanks to all who tossed in their knowledge on these! ) First of all, a huge thank you to Brian for the material. I received some material (rough and already cut slabs) from Brian and his daughter yesterday and once again some of the newly acquired material jumps the "to-do" line! LOL The first three pics are a couple slabs I cut from the rough. Polychrome Jasper in the first two pics and "River Gravel" via @jadedvision . The fourth pic is of the preforms cut from the Polychrome Jasper. The fifth pic - Top Row: Starburst Jasper, Sheep Creek Plume Agate, Montana Moss Agate - Bottom Row: River Gravel via jadedvision The sixth pic: Burro Creek Brecciated Jasper on the top two pieces and Burro Creek Purple Agate on the bottom one - Thanks to Tommy and Robin on the ID's. The seventh pic: Maury Mountain Moss Agate - identified by rmf and Tommy! The eighth pic: Brenda Agate - identified by Tommy!

Those look great, Jason! My daughter couldn't believe that was some of the same stuff we sent to you. I gotta admit that I'm a little disappointed with the polychrome. I was expected to see more color in it, but at least the patters are nice. Some of the other rough in that batch showed some vibrant blues.
The moss in the second to last photo is my favorite of that batch! I love the variety of colors in that one.

LOL - I love the slightly subtle tones that came out of it. Don't get me wrong, I love the vibrant colors I've seen in some Polychrome, but I was stoked with this piece...it was definitely one of my favorites out of the whole box...of course I'd be hard pressed to count all my "favorites" on both hands! LOL I glued all of them onto dops early this morning...and have been walking past them all day...wanting to start cabbing them, but knowing I have to wait! It's excruciating! LOL The one you described, and the Montana Moss...those two I'm really excited to see how they're going to look after polish...and of course the Polychrome will probably be the first to get ground. You know all of these are going to jump the existing lineup of other material already dopped! LOL

Nice preforms!
#6 looks like it's possibly Burro Creek material.
#7 could be Maury Mountain moss agate. Guesses at best.

I’m glad you are happy with that polychrome. It will be ironic if I turn out to be disappointed with the more colorful polychrome because it doesn’t have the beautiful patterns in that one.
I certainly hope that mossy piece polished up well. If it does, it will be spectacular!
I’m glad to hear those have jumped the queue because I am excited to see they turn out. My daughter is going to be looking forward to the results, too.

Thanks Robin! Dang it...I should have remembered the Burro Creek as I've seen it before. I do believe you nailed that one! I’m glad you are happy with that polychrome. I'm going to bet you're going to be really stoked with your Polychrome! I can't wait to see pics of what you cut. I'll make sure I tag you when I post the completed pics of these cabs...and I'm excited to hear your daughter's critique.

I will have to try to squeeze in a cutting session this weekend (assuming the weather holds) and get some of that polychrome cut. I'll be sure to post some pictures if I do. I'll be sure to show her any pictures you post. She's a super enthusiastic positive kid, so I'm guessing you will get some glowing reviews from her.

I really am excited to see what you find on the inside of the other pieces! I was even on eBay and a couple rough sites looking at more Polychrome! LOL I did the initial grind on one of the Polychrome cabs tonight. I may end up finishing it tonight or tomorrow. 1 Rhyolite 2 Rhyolite 3 Stone Canyon Jasper 4 See 1 & 2 5 starburst stone (it is a rhyolite)top left, Bottom Stone Canyon, Top ctr and Right unk 6 Top 2 Chapenite bottom unk 7 TX or Maury Mtn 8 unk but nice agate You Are Awesome! I would never have come up with Chapenite! I will totally agree with the unknown #8...it's a stunner - hopefully the cab will be also!

I apologize that I haven't read through all the posts but some of these I feel like I've seen before so here goes... Stony Creek because it's a bit more chaotic and less organized than Stone Canyon Top row - starburst jasper aka fireworks jasper, Sheeps Creek plume agate, thunderegg agate - looks a lot like some McDermitt 79 Bed I had. Bottom row unk. These are all three Burro Creek - the top row is the brecciated jasper and the bottom one is BC purple agate I'm with whoever said Maury Mtn. moss agate - the green and red together are the 'tell' Looks a lot like Brenda Agate - I'm about 90% certain

(Some of this may have come from you in that big auction a little while back...to me via Brian who won the auction.) I wanted to say that first one was Stoney Creek also as it really looks like the Stoney Creek I've seen. @jadedvision listed that as River Gravel in the auction Brian won... The Burro Creek...now that you mention it...both the brecciated pieces DO have minor purple areas in them! I was looking at rough on eBay today (not that I NEED it!) and ran across an auction for Brenda Agate. I didn't click on it, but it caught my attention as my wife's name is Brenda! I do believe you nailed this one too! Thanks very much for chiming in!

I wanted to say that first one was Stoney Creek also as it really looks like the Stoney Creek I've seen. @jadedvision listed that as River Gravel in the auction Brian won... That is entirely possible - honestly this material could have come from almost anywhere in the west. My opinion is that Stoney Creek is more likely than Stone Canyon because of the disorganization of pattern I mentioned. What I think you are seeing there is more of a tendency of the brecciated jasper to go pink to dark pink in sections. Even though BC is best known for the purple I have not personally seen any actual purple mixed in the brecciated material. This brecciated... and this purple... were collected (or maybe stolen out of AzRockGeek's truck) on the same day at Burro Creek but in completely unrelated locations about 10 miles apart.

Tommy - thanks for the clarification on the color differential...and thanks for the additional pictures! My wife is constantly seeing different colors than I do...where I would see the color in the brecciated as purple...she'd see the pink! I need to trust her sometimes when we're dressing up to go out! LOL (And no I'm not color blind...apparently I just don't have any color aptitude! LOL)

(The blue-green seal was not expected though!) This was actually the worst looking piece I had that I was going to cut up for tumbling.

I'm really really loving this material! I'm starting to think of it as a "poor man's" Royal Imperial!
