This stone is found all over our ranch in South Texas. Webb County. It comes in many shapes. Some appear to be fossils. Size ranges from tiny gravel size to 5". It's hard, not magnetic (using regular kitchen magnet). 1. Streak test color : non-metallic brick red. 2. Shape : granular 3. Hardness : glass can scratch it. 4. Weight : heavy around 5 Any help identifying it would be appreciated.

It looks like you've got a bunch of ironstone concretions. Google it for more images.
I think they are pretty common. We have them here in So Cal as well.
Welcome to the forun.

Pretty much what Jean said, or also known as Moqui marbles or shaman stones. They are sandstone loaded with iron oxide and we have many in southern Utah also.

Good description and identification. They also occur in the San Angelo, Texas area. I sent some samples to TCU thinking they might be meteorites and was informed they were concretions.

Thanks everyone for the info!
Funny growing up, I was told the rocks were not made of iron. I guess because they were not magnetic.
I was hoping for Hematite concretions.

Throw them in a tumbler. I grew up in central/west texas, Coleman county, and have tons of that stuff. Mine polishes up nice, almost looks chrome!
