Like the title of the thread says, the motor on my model B has started making a knocking sound. I've turned the shaft manually while off to try and isolate where the sound is coming from and it kinds sound like the fan is knocking against the sides of the motor casing. Not sure what caused this in the first place. Just noticed it was making an awful racket when operating. Anyway, anyone have any ideas on how I might be able to fix this? My unit came with one of the sealed bearing motors that do not require oiling. It doesn't even have oil ports for it.
I emailed the manufacturer but I've not heard back from them. Hopefully one of you can recommend a fix for this.

"I hear you knocking, but you can't come in"
Maybe you solved it already. Is it hitting something?
I would take off the drive band and turn it back on to confirm it is the motor and if something getting struck. If there is no noise, then lube the drive and idler shaft bearings and see if that is where the sound is coming from. The good news is all parts for Thumblers are for sale online.
I wouldn't use it until the noise is solved. Good luck!

Things that have caused my Model Bees to make noise (in no particular order):
1) Barrel creeping to the edge of the shafts. Noise: Periodic shrieking sound. Solution: Level things out 2) Bearings not oiled well. Noise: Shrieking with longer on/off period. Solution: Oil the bearings, but gently 3) Forgetting the gasket. Noise: Loud scratching sound. Solution: Don't forget the gasket 4) Shafts knocking back and forth. Noise: Thrusting squeak (bow-chica). Solution: Check belt alignment and motor pulley tightness 5) Blowout. Noise: Everything suddenly got quiet… Solution: Watch what you're tumbling and see if you have weird ph issues 6) Motor not tightened well. Noise: Vibes. Solution: Tighten dem nuts

Thanks for your replies!
I have isolated the noise. It is definitely coming from inside the motor. I guess my question is, how do I open this thing up? I don't see any screws that would enable this. I'm not a mechanical person AT ALL! It's probably something obvious and simple but I'm not seeing it.

I think I saw one online for %50USD. So not too costly, if you cannot tear it apart. I worked with a fellow who said fix it or v**k it, so no other f**ker can fix it. I live by that motto. ;-)

$50! Really?! I just bought a new one for $115! I wish I'd seen your post before buying the new one. I'll try to pry the old one apart and see if I can fix it. Maybe it can serve as a back-up. Anyway, thanks so much for the video Stefan and thanks for the advice, Greig.
