I really like alunite, too. I bought some rough once, but when I went to cut it, it fell apart. I wasn't aware that it need stabilizing. It was very soft, too. So, not I buy cabs.

I was given a nice little slab of alunite a couple of years ago. It has been sitting on the center console in my truck ever since. At least once a week I pick it up and admire it. I think of cabbing it from time to time but can't decide.
It is a very nice specimen, and I am hesitant to cab it while not knowing if will atually take a polish?

I use Zam at the end to help it along
