In November I got an 8 pound piece of Willow Creek from Tony. I made some cuts so it would fit in a vise and then a facing cut. Water glass wouldn't hold gluing to a board so I used Gorilla wood glue. I cut some slabs and then the Covington started to bind. I put it away. It was too large for my 12 inch HP. I decided today that I didn't want to wait to soak off the glue, so I quartered the board with my Makita drop saw and it came off. I split the piece into two 12 inch saw size pieces that total about 3 pounds. I'll start slabbing it.

I completed the two incomplete cuts and will glue the two thick pieces on boards to continue slabbing.

I got two preforms from the top slab and split them. The fat pear 7 and 5.4mm. The other pear 6.8 and 6.3mm. The middle slab, two from the front and one from the back. Far right middle from a small slab off the heel. The piece on top from the middle slab didn't have any pattern

I attempted to split the thickness on the split pieces and both halves came off the boards before the cuts were complete. I halved the length and then completed the cuts using the trim saw with an old blade.
