Well, I did tumble two batches of junk for practice, I learned alot. My next batch of rocks should be almost flawless. ;D Anyhow, here's the tiger eye that I got from Shawn (Rockshed). My digital camera doesn't take pics worth a crap but out of the thirty or so pics that I took, these look ok. lol....The rocks shine like glass in person. Thanks to everyone for the great info!! Here's the recipe, it was really simple: I used a thumlers Ultra-Vibe UV-10 vibratory tumbler. 6 days in 120-220 3 days in 500 with plastic pellets 5 days in Aluminum oxide polish filled 3/4 inch from the top with plastic pellets. I used about two tablespoons of Borax in each step, then I just rinsed by hand in soapy water. I never tumbled them in straight Borax, I thought that they looked good already. (yeah, I was scared) lol

Hmmmm, I don't know what I'm going to do with them any ideas? lol.. I wish I knew how to take a decent pic, those pics don't look anything like the rocks. I may have to break out the Minolta, I haven't used it in years. I Also have a re-tumble pile of these, maybe a pound and a half. I'm going to throw them in with the Brazilian agate and see what happens. I got some Botswana agate off Ebay last night that I'm going to mix it as well, should be interesting.

Kim- after reading every post on this site.....3 or four times, I felt like I've done this a hundred times before my tumbler even came in the mail. There was a couple of things that I know I should have done differently, I'll catch those on the next round. Oh, I should have mentioned (as I did in another post), I rounded the edges of every rock with a diamond blade on a circular saw mounted upside down. Don't try this at home!! ;D lol

Nice looking batch Randy. Tigereye takes a nice shine and you nailed it. Use lost of pellets when mixing tigereye with brazilian agates or they may fracture. And as Kim mentioned, warn me before you post the agate pics. Love those agates.

Wonderful batch, BikerA!
I was wondering how you got them to shape up so nicely if you were using a vibe for the entire process, then I saw your comment about a bit of hazardous saw-shaping. Sure worked for you, and I hope you still have all your fingers! Great shine, well done!

LOL, you can actually touch the blade while it's spinning, the worse that can happen is friction burn. ;D Thanks for the compliments!!!! Agate coming right up (in a week or two) HAHA

Hmmmmm, what club? I think I've missed a few meetings.....tell me where the next one is and I'll pick you up on the way darlin. ;D lol I really appreciate the cool comments!! I'm pumped, can't wait to start the next batch. I started up my circular saw (haha) a couple hours ago and started shaping the agates, they shape nicely! I might write a book "Redneck cabbing 101" ;D

i think you have a winner there, Randy... ************** Chapter One
First, count all the fingers you have before attempting this. ************** Chapter Two
Who needs stinking safety glasses? ************ i really think you are on to something here, i only hope you live long enough to follow through with this next batch.

I should be ok, I'm jumping over the Snake River Canyon on a moped tomorrow, but first I have to shave my head and take my clothes off for better aerodynamics. lol, actually, I wear safety glasses, "mickey mouse" sound suppressors (because it's very loud) and a dust mask (something about silicates that I read in a post here). hehe, I can't recommend my method to anyone, but if you saw me doing it you'd say "that's all there is to it?" ....and "got beer? ;D
