I need your advice, please!
I ordered from eBay a new Lortone QT12, but they shipped me the QT66.
Should I keep it? The QT66 is more expensive, and it has 2 barrels; but I find the big barrel (like on my defunct Thumbler B) to be very effective at rough tumbling.
If I buy a QT12 barrel will it work with the QT66 base? They look identical. (Assuming I can find a QT12 barrel.)
Please help, I need to tell the seller if I want to send it back. Thanks!

You can use the QT12 barrel on the QT66. The only difference in the tumblers is that the QT66 has two 6# barrels whereas the QT12 has one 12# barrel. Whether or not you keep it or return it would be up to you.

Keep it and get a 12 pound barrel if you need it. I've got a QT66 and it's great for doing different Stages at the same time and for experiments.

Personally, I'd contact the seller and advise them of the error. Then see what they suggest as the best option. Maybe they've got a QT12 barrel they'd be willing to sell at a discount to make up for their error...
(I know...it sounds "goody-two-shoes"...)

Those barrels are the same diameter, so I would imagine any difference in tumbling efficiency would be negligible. Those rocks are not going to be moving much along the length of the barrel.
I was hoping to get a QT66 but they are hard to find these days. My plan was to get a 12 pound barrel to add a little more flexibility. I’d follow Jason’s advice and see if they can sell you a 12 pound barrel at a discount to make up for the mistake. Win-win for you if they do.

Really depends on your usage. Our main rotary lineup consists of two Thumler Model B's and a Lortone QT-66 which run 100% of the time along with some smaller guys that run sporadically. Are you all rotary? If so the edge would go to the QT-66 in my eyes. You would have the ability to run different stages simultaneously. While the diameters of the Model B and Lortone 6lb. barrels are very similar you can run much larger material in the Model B (would also be true of the Lortone 12lb.) due to it's extra length. This may not even be a consideration for you. Will feeding your tumbler ever be an issue? Do you self-collect or buy all of your material. You have the flexibility to run a single six pound barrel with the QT-66 if you get short on material. Do you ever plan to fix your Model B? During "normal" times their parts are readily available and they are easy to work on. If so, I would definitely keep the QT-66.
