Chicago Electric tumblers? What do you guys think of them? I have heard that the belts wear out quick, is this true? also do you guys know if they tend to overheat or break easily, etc. I am trying to decide I it would be worth it to buy a tumbler of this brand.
Thanks -Jackson

Jackson, I got a Chicago Electric in January and it ran 24/7 for 7 months. Never had a belt break, never got too hot, no problem with the motor, but the plastic fan broke. I definitely got my $39.00 worth from it, but I wouldn't buy another one. Spend the extra money and get a Lortone. You won't regret it.

Hello Jackson! I'm a new member who has been a visitor for a while. When I came here I was just asking myself the same question about the chicago brand tumblers. I read information about problems with the belts breaking. I do not have experience with them, but there is a posting in here dealing with "What brand tumbler has the highest recommendation" you can find the post using the site's search feature and writing "Newbie question", that's the name of the tread. I used the member Banjocreek's recomendation on that posting and purchased a Lortone 33B because I could add and switch barrels sizes. I'm expecting my tumbler to arrive next week! Check the posting section : "Vendors - The Good the Bad and the Ugly" and you will find good information on where to find good places to shop. Hope that the information is useful

Hello again Jackson, sometimes using the search feature gets a little tricky. If you can not access the thread I told you using the search feature try this: Click on the link below to get to the tread. If that doesn't work just copy and paste the following url into you browser and press enter, that will take you to the posting: andy321.proboards16.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1092337973Bye now

Thanks you Moonstone, I already have a Lortone model 3A but i just noticed that the chicago electric ones were much cheaper. So I thought that if they were both about the same quality, I might as well get the chicago electric one. But thanks for the help. -Jackson
