1. Noreena (28 x 27 mm) — I found this amazing pattern on a slab and decided that I couldn't risk doming and losing the "rose". Fully polished as a flat freeform, it still needs cleaning up around the perimeter. I plan to create a wax bezel setting and cast it in silver. I'll also cast a silver twig and solder it to the setting for the stem for a pendant. No rushing...
2. Flowering Tube Onyx (30 x 19 mm) — Cut in a freeform to conserve material/patterns. I used Hxtal epoxy to stabilize it prior to cutting. Unfortunately (or not) she has a rough sister that I managed to glue to a shelf with Hyxtal. Doh!! I haven't shortened the shelf just yet!
3. Sci-Fi Jasper (37 x 35 mm) — Cut from the slab that I posted in "Cab That Slab 15".
4. Pseudomorph Sagenite Agate (31 x 25 mm) — No back story, just a pretty face.
5. Rhodonite (31 x 25 mm) — My first exposure to this material and I like it!
6. Laguna Lace (33 x 30 mm) — This was a very nice surprise. The upper area on the preform had a delicate light gray pattern, while the lower area was a medium gray with almost no pattern. I expected a so-so cab, but as I started cutting it just came alive.
7. Opalized Petrified Wood (38 x 32 mm) — "Bigfoot!" With a little imagination you might be able to see him hiding in the darker center. Cut from wonderful wood that I purchased from roy.

They are all beautiful! Especially love the rose! That Sci fi jasper was very enjoyable to work and love your cab also. Oh and the pet wood, I believe you sent me a piece of it in prize for the cab a slab contest- awesome stuff and pleasure to grind. Excellent work! Thanks for the show!

Gorgeous Gary! I love the Rose. Good choice to leave that one as a flat face. Beautiful pattern on that Tube Onyx! I really like the pattern on that Pseudomorph Sagenite Agate. I have some Rhodonite, but I haven't worked it yet. What was it that you liked about it...looks, or the way it worked? You definitely brought something to life in that Laguna...it's a stunner! And yes...I do see Bigfoot...or is his name Darryl?

As always, your cabs are amazing! I absolutely love the rose and can't wait to see it all assembled. You have the best eye for seeing things in stone.

Thanks, Jason. Someone at our club had told me that Rhodonite is brittle and that he had difficulty cutting cabs with points. I had no problem with the cab. It cut easily and the polish I got was pretty good. I also like its pink color.
Darryl! I wish I had that costume! Well, maybe not. Too many around here might want a Bigfoot rug.

That rose is really cool. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
That’s one of the clearest Bigfoot sightings yet! He barely tried to hide.
Great batch all around!

That rose will be awesome set! Great eye! Love your cabs! The laguna lace is a standout for me.
I have never had trouble with rhodonite from any location. I love the stuff.
