((hey, ladies, if you can't marry a doctor, marry an engineer! ;D)) here are some photos of my new custom made rock drilling jig made of garolite. the original jig was made of aluminium and sometimes left marks on the softer stones. also the older model (also custom made for me) didn't have the ability to grasp some of the odder shaped rocks. if you want info and where to order Garolite go here: www.mcmaster.com and do a seach for Garolite. it's a pretty cool material made basically of denim and epoxy. so here are some photos of my new jig retro fitted to my old meatloaf tin set up: the first two photos shows the new depth of movement: here we have a triangular piece firmly mounted: and a close up to show the machined grooves: this is with the drill guide mounted and ready: ok, this is shown without the water and without the drill in place, but you can get the general idea: thanks for looking!!! KD

WoW, your hubby did really cool on that. I've seen that stuff but never knew what it was made of, very interesting. Is the whole thing screwed down to that larger piece of aluminum then so it cannot move at all?

Pretty Damn Cool KD, Thanks for sharing the pics of the whole set-up. It sure makes it easy to understand how you get those drilled holes in the cool rocks. Steve

Hey KD thats amazing. Do you guys know the saying that necessity is the mother of invention? Thanks for sharing the pictures of your setup. I'm sure Mr KD could sell a bunch of those if he wanted to! - "The Mr KrazyDiamond Rock Clamp" sure does have a ring to it.

KD - The old man did a nice job on that clamp. Nice close-up in pic #4.
Hope he got more than a teddy bear out of it.
