Beautiful job. It looks like something I saw at the aquarium.

The precision is amazing on this! I can't say I've ever seen a cab shaped like this. When I first started reading your description, I wasn't too sure it wasn't going to be an incorporation of the Golden Ratio... I really do love it! And I'm still going back and forth looking at the precision with regards to the symmetry and angles. Great job!

Thanks for jogging my math memory too, I hadn’t thought about the golden ratio in years. I've been curious as to how that could come into play or be utilized with a cabochon design...

What are you picturing as the "finished" product? Wire wrapped? Bezel setting? I could see this shape being used in a silver bezel setting pendant along the lines of what brotherbill or lpl does...

Great job @jadedvision! My cabachons don't turn out that good yet.

Thanks! It felt like work by the time I finished with the hard wheels. I thought I was on easy street after that, then the cab slipped off the first soft wheel catching the side of the wheel and flying off the dop. This shape seemed to want to slip and slide all over the place with the soft wheels, like I was cabbing greased ice lol! Well, your persistence paid off handsomely.

I didn’t really have a thought on a setting, and I gotta admit it seems silly to be cutting cabochons without any jewelry making experience lol! I don't think it's silly...that's how it was for me when I started making cabs...I had NO clue where I was heading with it. I just wanted to do it...so I did!
