I have a cordless Ryobi multi tool that came in a set. I didn't know what it was, I bought the set for the saws. I want to know if anyone has used one for polishing stone.

I have one of these from Harbor Freight with a diamond saw blade for cutting bathroom tile and a SC sanding head which is very course. T have used it to shape limestone & other soft material but did not find it that useful. You would have to find or make diamond pads to make it useful. I do not recommend trying to polish anything without water as these raise a lot of dust.

The triangular diamond pads for this thing are pretty expensive. I got a set of round three-inch pads for a lot less. It did a nice job on the slab. I am wondering how much better it would look with something beyond three thousand which is the finest pad in the set.

Once you get to 3000 a real polish like tin oxide works best. It can be done with a slow speed tool with just a damp pad or even by hand if you work hard enough.
