Not exactly lapidary equipment, but it is equipment and I use it to clean thundereggs. I have a SF-170 textile spray gun, basically a miniature pressure washer. I bought it off ebay quite a few years ago and at the time the seller mentioned they also sell replacement parts if I need them in the future. Of course, now I can't find where I saved that info!
I see the SF-170 model is still being sold on ebay and other sites so the replacement piston spring shouldn't be that hard to find! The only site I found that had one listed was for a different model that looks similar and they didn't give any measurements for the spring so I don't know if would actually work. They only want $3 for the spring so normally I'd just take a chance buy it but they have a minimum flat rate shipping charge of $12 and I just have a problem with paying $12 to ship a $3 item!
It seems to be a metric spring. The approximate dimensions are 11mm wide outside diameter, 8.3mm inside diameter. The wire is round, about 1.2mm wide. Both ends of the spring are ground flat. The length is about 40 to 42mm. Hard to get an accurate measurement because the spring is currently in 3 pieces!
The spring comes in contact with water so it needs to be stainless or otherwise rust resistant. If anyone knows where I could find one of these beasts, I appreciate hearing from you!

An older member of our mineral club gave us one of these to clean minerals several years ago. He told us the spring is the weak link and wears out but as most dry cleaners use them all the time they often have extra parts or know where to get them. When ours stop working a member took it into a local dry cleaner he used for school uniforms and they showed him how to fix it and gave him some extra parts. If I recall there are several China made copies of this and they are all the same. I was told never use tap water in it only distilled water. Next time I am in the shop "about two weeks" I will try to find the box and see if we have a spring that can be measured or if we have a part number as we had the instructions at one time.

Good idea checking with some local dry cleaners! I never thought about that! I will try stopping in to a few around here to see if any of them can help me find a spring. I've never heard about not using tap water. I guess using distilled water is a good idea. No need to add mineral build up to the mix. "Fortunately" I have a damp basement so I have an endless supply of distilled water available to me!

I replaced a spring in a Babbs spot cleaning gun by using www.superiorps.com or www.valleylitho.com. They have a phone number of 800-826-6781 for Superior Screen Printing Supplies. This information is from several years ago.

This information is from several years ago. Thanks for the info. After striking out calling local dry cleaners. I managed to find what I think will work on Amazon. Will know in a week or 2 if they are the proper size. If not, I'll check out the sites you mentioned. I was surprised when calling dry cleaners. 2 dont use spray guns, 2 do but dont know where to order replacement parts from, and 1 gave me the name of where they get their supplies from, but they apparently dont stock springs!
