I love that material in the 7th pic...it looks brecciated.
I have a tendency to see saw marks with a brand new blade, but once it's "broken in" a little, I don't see the saw marks anymore. I kicked myself the last time I got a new blade. I wasn't thinking and I cut dino bone to start and the saw marks were horribly deep! D'oh!

Gotcha. Yeah this blade is supposed to be 80% so not sure what's up. I texted Tony catmandewe for his ideas on it. The material in 7 is from China Hollow mine and it is in this jasp agate extremely sharp matrix (for lack of a better word). I cut down my entire finger yesterday, luckily it was a very shallow cut. I'll post some pix of the materials, it's wild.

Wow! Great slabs! I haven't even slabbed my own material yet. I need to learn next time I'm at.my rock club.

I think that's some really good looking material! Sorry on the finger! I got mine once with the trim saw. I was being "dumb" and not paying attention. The material slipped off the blade and was quickly replaced by my finger...it wasn't too deep either...thank goodness...but it bled like a stuck pig! LOL

I have a scar on the back of my left thumb from a chip that came off my hammer while attempting to make a crack to pry a bit of that stuff out of the hillside on a club trip to the claim. My 2nd best sphere came from a piece of it that was tossed to the side near the mine owners truck that Elizabeth saw while I was getting bandaged up.

perkins17, yeah slabbing and seeing what's inside is so addictive. Make sure you show us what you cut at the rock club. How is that outfit configured? Do they have a bunch of equipment for members to use? jasoninsd, luckily it was incredibly superficial and no blood! Doesn't sound like you were that lucky... gotta keep your eyes on the prize. Rockoonz, I can believe it. They really encouraged us to wear safety glasses when we went with the rock club. I really enjoyed talking to Don too, he was enjoying our trip as much as we were! I'd like to see that sphere if you still have it.

I'd like to see that sphere if you still have it. They have a wall of slab saws, tables of wheeled cabbers (genies), and a wall of belt Sanders and a couple trim saws. A ton of equipment for noobs like me to work on.

Number 10 in the first batch of pictures is awesome! Crazy right? Such interesting material. So sharp too, I have two huge cuts to prove it!
