Kim, you wanted to see some pics of Gary Hardy's Flint Ridge material, so here ya go. No sun out here today so the pictures really don't do the rock justice. Photographed wet to bring out some of the color and pattern. Unfortunately for pic taking the flint is really glassy so there's a lot of reflection. First pic is just a bit of the smaller tumble material ( Most is larger so will have to be broken or sawed. A lot of small cabs in the tumble mix for sure!) Second pic is the cabbing rough...mel

Kim, Drat but no! You know how it is. Really want to try the flint but I have all my tumblers going with other batches right now. Just finishing the grind on a twelve pounder full of Lavic Siding Jasper and have my others going on a mix of Hornitos jaspers. Then I have to do a batch of pee wees for the childrens sand sifting booth at our gem show ( plan to mix a few samples of the jasper from a monstrous new deposit I found at the ranch to see how it does. If this new stuff works up good, I've got a veritable mountain of jasper, if I can haul it out of the canyon!) Then I'll do the flint and all the other zillion batches I have lined up and waiting. Tumbling is soooo slow! Kinda hoping Santa brings me another tumbler. I've sure left enough hints!...mel

Just call Gary at 740-787-1578. He is a very nice guy and lives on 'Flint Ridge'. I ordered 40 pounds and should get it next week. I couldn't find any way to buy the stuff off of his web sight, and the phone call gave me time to talk to him a bit, and tell him about the RTH site.

So, someone else has discovered Flint Ridge flint. It's one of my personal faves. It polishes up amazingly, you're in for some fun. I get mine from Kiesha on Ebay, but it's all magnificent. Good luck and keep us posted, I'm excited for you!

Cookie: I've dealt with kiesha in the past too. Contacted that site first and was informed their source for flint had dried up and that quality from the digs had gone way down. Just sumbled upon Gary Hardy's site in an internet search and boy am I happy with the quality of his flint!....Mel
