I wanted to go into the deposit but people had beat me to it with their sunscreens up. It was a very warm day. I got out the 4Lb crack hammer and a couple of chisels and went into the tailings.The lesson I learned was to look for the more porous rock, hit it with the crack hammer until it broke then chisel along the fracture. Sort of like splitting wood along the grain, if that makes any sense.
We had a great time even if it was a lot of work. My girlfriend had a baggie with a few in it. Next stop, New Mexico and Arizona in a few months. 😁
