Since joining this Forum I've been often pointed to purchase various things from The Rock Shed. It wasn't until today that I noticed they are out of a tiny little tourist town Keystone, SD.
I got really nostalgic, because as a kid I spent my entire summers in Keystone staying with my grandparents. I would walk from their house to the boardwalk nearly everyday, and I never passed by the Rock Shed without going in.
I spent hours there as a kid! That was almost 30 years ago...
It's just really cool to see that tiny little rock shop in a tiny little town doing pretty big things for the tumbling/lapidary community.

Anyway, that's my rant. Didn't know where else to post that.

That is SO cool!

I'm glad they're right around the corner for me...so to speak. Oftentimes when I go out to Teepee Canyon, I'll swing through Keystone on the way back to Rapid City just to stop in and "peruse" the rock yard...and invariably I end up with a bag full of "essentials"! LOL

Do you remember the salt-water taffy (and fudge) shop on the west side of the boardwalk?

Of course I do! Spent a lot of time walking up and down the boardwalk.

I drove "virtually" through Keystone via Google maps and I couldn't believe how much it has grown since I was last there. Always have a special place in my heart.
