Here are a few chunks of the petwood KD sent me - Ive got quite a lot of it still in polish - but I may send some of it back to 80 for better shaping. With these though - I think they will stay as they are Mark

WoW you definitely nailed the shine, awesome job! I have to get some more of that to play with, it's so interesting to know your messing with something that was alive so many years ago.

Wowsers! I peeked at my pet wood last night in polish and um it looks like a neglected step child compared to yours. I'm thinking its gonna stay in polish for awhile! What is your recipe for that!

Mark, I'm speechless and blinded from that shine! That pet wood looks fantastic. Nicely done. Maybe I'll be able to get some shine like that one of these days. Steve

So far i've only managed to collect & tumble ONE piece of pet wood. (yes I will post a photo... later) It is not very common on the beaches here but it's easy to spot if you do know what to look for. If you're used to looking for it in it's rough form you may miss it on the beach when it's already been shaped & smoothed.

The recipe was all the usual - Use as much 80 as I had around - buy a load more and use all that up aswell Then 1 week 220 - 1 week 400 Cerium Oxide for polishing took about 10 days - It was slower than I expected - the lighter coloured stones also took longer than the darker ones - must be to do with density etc. Theres a lot of variation on that with the Pet wood. Restarted a load for better shaping yesterday.
