Earlier this summer Ali and I happened upon a few chunks of surfite. Tonight I decided to hack off a piece and give it a go. Not perfect but for a practice piece it turned out alright. Thanks for looking 👍  |

Thanks everyone. LoL Jason, it is similar to obsidian in the fact I started on the 220 wheel. I think that's where it ends. The surfite is overflowed resin/epoxy/whatever that they make sure boards with so it's basically plastic. It actually works very easily, I shaped it on 200 hard, went to 600 soft, then buffed it on a cotton buff with blue compound. hummingbirdstones jasoninsd rockjunquie |

Well Beth fernwood this is resin and fordite is paint. The surfite has some clear areas. I haven't worked fordite but I don't think there's any clear in it. |

I saw some of this for the first time at a rock show last weekend, and was told only that it's "really soft." Thanks for more details it's curious stuff.
