Is that a Bahia agate? If not, it won't expose under layered waterlines... It will clean them up pretty good though..

This rock is pretty much ready to go from course to medium grit. I've been putting it back into course in the hope that this dark "layer" would wear away, exposing banding underneath. It sorta looks like you can see bands through this outer layer, but the rock is getting smaller and the bands and not becoming exposed. So what do y'all think? Trying to decide if I'll take it out of course this week or not.

I understand the dilemma you have there🤣... but considering how pretty the color and pattern are already, if it were mine I’d move it into polish. 🤗

I think that one turned out great! If you lost all of that top layer, it would have lost some character as well.
