I believe this is one of the small Mexican nodules. Some of the pieces were not totally closed/broken open and this looks like one of those pieces.

Rockjunquie, Sabre will need to give you a positive identification. My guess is Rio Grande egg material or Luna.

Before I forget and get side-tracked — very nice cabs.
Love the lizard, too. Is it an anole?
The honey wasps are a new one to me. I had to go look them up. If they are used commercially, I imagine they are either less aggressive than some other social wasps, or the keepers use lots of smoke and double up on the suit. Thanks for the opportunity to learn something.
