Roy has been putting Blue Mountains on Full Moon. His listings have a link to his store. He had a BM slab listed for less than the one on auction would go for, so I bought it and two other slabs to save on shipping. A slab for me is a collection of cab patterns. How the entire slab looks doesn't matter. With dark areas and impurities I saw 2 or 3 preforms. The slabs arrived yesterday and I laid out the preforms. I set up the trim saw and started cutting. Two super seven, two Mescalero and kaboom. Both BMJ blew up. Redrew what was left and then decided to see if I could get something out of a dark area. I'll work on the one on the left and decide on the others later. I've never worked on super seven and the Mescalero was a bad choice by me since there isn't a lot going on. My r.o.i. on this purchase is not going to be great unless the super seven saves the day.

I'll finish these tomorrow. I have cataract surgery on Monday and will be wearing goggles afterward. No grinding until I can quit using them. I didn't do any research before buying the super seven and after working it I wondered if it was a composite but it looks like it is natural. I found a decent shape for the BMJ salvage.

Super 7 is composed of a combination of: Amethyst, Lepidocrocite, Goethite, Cacoxenite, Rutile, Smoky Quartz & Crystal Quartz. It is natural.

I had my cataract surgery on both eyes on Monday. I thought it was to deal with a problem but it also corrects vision. I'm now 20/20 in both eyes. I used 4x readers on the computer and working on rocks. After surgery, I could read the screen without glasses and with my previous distance glasses. Things were bad with the 4x and older pair of 2.75. My doctor said 2x would be about right so I got some at Costco and they work fine. I don't like to wear prescription glasses grinding so the 2x will offer eye protection and some magnification. The instructions for the goggles said a week, but my doctor said I was good after one night.
