The experiement is that I just tried to scan in this rock and then crop it to get detail. I scanned it top and bottom. The plastic thing is preventing it from rolling downhill -- the rock isn't really standing up in it. Anyhow, I don't know how much detail I was able to capture. The question is, if you had this rock would you find somebody to saw it and see what is inside? I've put a lot of tumbling and polishing time into this rock, which was unusually nicely egg shaped from the start and is about the size of a chicken egg. It has a great polish and the surface patterning is really pretty -- swirls and spots of brown, red, orange, yellow, transparent. It's pretty the way it is, but I can't help but wonder what would be found inside. Thanks for any input!

Well thanks LCARS. That's the problem with the night shift, we are all just fumbling and tumbling along, but when the day shift comes on, they are the ones with saws and stuff who are always saying stuff should be cabbed or slabbed or whatever. Meanwhile, we can party.

That's a tough call Puppie, it's pretty cool the way it is.
