Okay, I couldn't stand it so I took photos to see how much difference there is. I believe the photos are better.

Photos are definitely better. If it were me.... I would NOT slice it... I think you are likely to find the same inside as is shown on the outside. So unless you are planning to make cabs or something like that, why break up that magnificent egg shape? My 2 cents.

i concur with the rolling stone something that well fashioned by nature should be lkeft as made, it appears to be a quartzite stream cobble you might get a better polish by further tumbling but unless you can tumble sizeable chunks ino , , is a bragging rock as is . my 3,4,5 ,25, and 100 cents. gemmaster

is that the one you liberated lol its beautiful !! but if your like me & you just cant stand not knowing whats inside the why not bust it open it is a rock and there are plenty of them

Thanks for all the input! I think you are right, the perfect natural shape as well as the surface patterns are probably the best argument against cutting it. I am not going to tumble it anymore. In real life it is a great mirror polish, plus it has those vugs which I've tried to grind out, but they are if anything getting bigger, so I'm thinking that the outside surface might just grind away. No this is not the rock I liberated, which is more the size of a cement block!
