perkins17 I used a five step process because I knew this batch would be good. After the pre-polish, I sent them for a week in Tripoli followed by a week in tin oxide. The polish came out better than my average. I can’t wait to see your batch.

Glad to here that other people believe in the power of an extra tripoli stage.

perkins17 They looked pretty good after the Tripoli. The tin oxide definitely improved the polish. I agree that it’s high priced but worth it for some batches. Are you close to polishing a batch?

Thanks jasoninsdThat was the batch I was telling you I had to stop to visit SD. It turned out pretty good. Sometimes you just know ahead of time that a batch will turn out good.

Not super close. I think I'll go about one more week in the coarse give or take some. They are a bunch of weirdly shaped beach agates/chalcedony nodules. I am trying not to rush them as they were a gift and I want them to turn out good.

Bots just do not get old, no matter how many get posted here. Really like the pinkish ones with the orbs!

They're all beauties, but I especially like the bluish eyeball in the 3rd picture.

Thanks Robin hummingbirdstones I could send you a slice of man made star sapphire. Pm me. Rick gemfeller shared a good source with me. I’m kind of buried in the stuff.

felrock Total rotary. Roataries shape rocks really well. I’m looking forward to seeing some of your tumbles. Please show some of your results.

A good, long, patient, tumble to get all those LSAs and Bots so well rounded and free of flaws. I can tell from the first photos you didn't cut any corners. Bots and LSAs are a lot alike, just different colors. Your tumbling job really shows off the bands and eyes.
How long did they take you? I'm guessing 8-12 weeks, depending on whether it was rotary only or if you have a vibe tumbler.
