That stuff should be slabbed, and cabbed! That is beautiful obsidian. The red obsidian would make a cool intarsia piece. I gave a piece of Mount St Helens for Sands to polish. I got it from the debris field when I lived in Portland. I am looking forward to making a piece from it. Slabbed, and cabbed. Maybe faceted.

that is GORGEOUS stuff, Bikerrandy, but i don't envy you your quest. Obsidian ain't the easiest tumble, foams like a rabid dog. takes a lot of looking after, but can be very rewarding.

Almost forgot, thanks Cher for posting yours and turning me on to them!! Yeah, I'm still rebaiting on what to do, I'm going to tumble some of it but I'd like to do something different with some of it as well. This is one of two packages the I received today, the other package is 25 pounds of obsidian and six more pounds of mahogany obsidian on the way. lol, I have 49 pounds of obsidian to play with! ;D

This stuff really is cool, I even feels good to the touch, it's just not like other rocks! My other package has some snowflake in it as well.

Thanks Randy! You know, your vibe might be enought to round these out. Obsidian is VERY soft.
