There's a story behind this, I used to sell swords. I still had a couple left over and one of the guys that I work with collects them. When he found out that I'm into rocks, he said that he had some nice ones that he'd bring in for a pair of swords. Sight unseen, I brought the swords in and here's what I got in return, both pair stand about six inches tall......

I love stuff like that. Even though some of them are dyed. Back when, I worked for Clyde Mcurdy of Anchorage fame. He was one of the first modern settlers and lived in a tent for a few before he built his house. I worked part time for him sanding the flat surfaces after he cut them. I thought it was the stupidest thing I had ever done. Look what I do today. Clyde is gone, Anchorage is no longer what it used to be, and back then, I would throw those things away. Today, I see the colour, shine, shape, wonder the weight, and just look into them. Beautiful Randy.

Yeah, I was really surprized, and I got the swords straight from a distributor for dirt cheap. The swords retailed for around $100 each but I paid $25 each for them, they were very nice as well. (you should see the mark-ups on some of the stuff that "you all" buy!!) lol

I have a confederate civil war sword with an engraved blade of some major in a safe at my parents house. Got it appraised about ten yrs ago for $28,000. My little bro got a sword last yr when he graduated from the naval acadamy. I guess my mom got taken, I think she paid about $100 for that one.

Wow, very nice. Starting to get a bit jealous here, first your Botswana's agates and then the Obsidian, now this.
(The Botswana and Obsidian mainly bother me because I lost out on Ebay this past week for some real nice batches of both... my fault really, I was playing the cheapskate)

You don't have to botswana agate off ebay, I get them from "Mark" at www.superagates.com I got my last box of obsidian from James, it's sweet!
