Last year I bought a couple on Amazon that were definitely NOT Lortone. They were much cheaper though. Leegol Electric Replacement 3lb Barrel for Rock Tumbler www.amazon.com/dp/B07VCNG97C/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_JMksR33Vmj99wThey are made of a harder plastic than the Lortone barrels, so they clean up super nice inside (no grit stuck anywhere). BUT, and it's a big but, the lids/gasket are TERRIBLE!!!! It's a nightmare to try to get them out of the barrel (my poor fingers) and eventually they just bent. Frustrating!! With some experimenting (including a couple blow outs) I found the best set up to be the cheap barrel, Lortone inner lid/gasket, and the cheap outer metal lid. Works like a charm. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

I don't own a harbor freight tumbler but they definitely get mixed reviews. Some of those who have purchased them claim they had trouble keeping belts on them as the motor and pulley alignment was messed up. Yet others claim to have gotten a good one and they last for a few years. The impression I get from watching multiple reviews is it's kind of a roll of the dice whether you get a quality machine or not. As far as the barrels go I know they are not the same. Check out this video on the two tumblers being used for polishing jewelry. After a mere 10 minutes the water turns black from the Harbor freight Tumbler barrel itself. I have to wonder about the longevity of it if the barrel material stains the water after only 10 minutes.

Been looking for a couple barrels for the 33B...does anyone have any in stock? Ok can confirm the barrels are VERY similar to Lortone. The nut is different and the barrels seem stiffer…but lid system is exactly the same. Went ahead and got a vibratory one too. My patience problem is showing. 🤦🏻♀️ I will likely regret buying from HF.

OK...hooked up the HF tumbler. its DEFINITELY louder than the Lortone. Will report back on the barrel issue. But as I plan on using this one for ONLY the first, maybe second stages, I'm not too worried about a little black water...
EDIT: it came with FIVE extra belts! That can't be a good sign. 😂😂😂
