My wonderful and only nephew is getting married Fri. His bride is a perfect match. I couldn't be happier. She asked me to make her a pendant for the something new part. It could be something old (Italian blue goldstone), something new (I just made it) and something blue (although it is more purple and magenta). For anyone that doesn't know, Italian blue Goldstone is the original goldstone. It was made by monks in one monastery in Italy. What they put out was all there was. Then the Chinese started making it... The new stuff doesn't look at all like the old stuff- not to me. It is actually glass. Anyway, so I let her pick her stone or pendant. She liked the wrap on the Mohave turquoise because of the curl being like her wedding theme, Nightmare Before Christmas. She liked the goldstone (unset) because the sparkles match her gown perfectly. This is what I came up with. The goldstone is smaller than the turquoise. The colors don't look right on the goldstone pic- it is just so flashy.

The best word for describing both of these is "elegant"! Your professionalism is definitely something to strive towards!

She didn't ask for it. She had an idea that it should be new but not hers. After the wedding, I'll gift it to her.

It's beautiful, Tela. Simple and elegant. Perfect to wear with a wedding dress. Thanks! She is wearing an off the shoulders dress that doesn't have too deep a drop. The pendant needed to be small enough not to fall into her cleavage. I think this will be perfect.

Purple turquoise? Is that treated or natural?
Both pieces are gorgeous.

Purple turquoise? Is that treated or natural? Both pieces are gorgeous. It's pressed and dyed turquoise. It's called Mohave turquoise. Comes in other colors, too.
Thanks.

Gorgeous, Tela. She will love and treasure it for sure! Thanks Mike! I asked her if she wanted to see a picture and she said, "Surprise me!" That puts the pressure on.

Perfect! I think that your curl is a great design element that adds movement, carrying the eye back up and around again to appreciate the whole piece.

Today is the big day. Getting ready to head out now. I'll try to get a pic of the bride with the pendant... if she likes it, that is. But, I think she will. I'm so excited for the day ahead.

Oh my goodness! She LOVED it and showed it off all night. After the ceremony she mentioned she will give it back to me. When I told he to keep it, it's yours, she got emotional. It was a really sweet scaled down wedding. About 40 people- all good friends and family. One of their good friends officiated and it was brief and funny- just what they wanted. All in all, it was a fantastic time. Soooooo many pictures were taken. I brought a camera - no cell phone - but my battery died right away. I thought it was fresh. I was wrong. As soon as I come across a good pic from someone, I'll post it.

So awesome, Tela- all of it! Well, except for the camera. 😐 Thanks for sharing, I'm so glad she loved the pendant. Of course we all knew she would!

They had a friend, who was a photographer, roaming around taking pictures. That girl worked her tail off! She was everywhere at the same time. Gotta get up with her.

Congrats on the successful pendant and wedding! Sounds like y'all had a ball and enjoyed yourselves celebrating the marriage. Exactly as it should be.
I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of the bride wearing the pendant!
