not overly thrilled but a good learning experience for me. Learned its not a good thing to polish different hardness at the same time. The lighting sucked and didn't do shine justice - taken inside because mosquitoes were eaten me up out side. whole batch Lowe's special for textiger thanks for looking

I think the brown "conglomerate" in the first picture on the far right. Neato.

Well done Robert, that's a nice looking colorful batch of rocks. Good you learned something with this batch, we'll have higher expectations for the next one.

Robert,
Love the entire right column. Would the brownish ones be conglomerates or brecciated something? They resemble the green jasper from africa that kim has, just not in color. The red ones and the two yellowish-brown ones at the top of the column are really cool. The Lowe's rocks came out looking pretty cool, too. What are the little bluish ones?
Nice job. I think they look great. It's hard to see the shine sometimes with flash photography, but I think you have a nice batch. I took a similar tack and decided that no matter how they came out, it was a learning experience. But I would say you don't have a heckuva lot more to learn--they look good.

Would the brownish ones be conglomerates or brecciated something? They would be brecciated something... Angular rocks in matrix = breccia. Rounded rocks in matrix = conglomerate. Well, you already knew that, but for those who didn't.... Rockds, nice patterns and colours on many of those, and nicely rounded. I've never had any luck with indoor or flash pics. I vote for braving the mosquitoes next time

thank you all, all the rocks are CA beach rocks except the ones around the coin. White and pink are marble; dark pink, black, white are granit; blue ones are quartz; oval brown one with no shine is fossilized limestone. The breccia (brown and tan) came out with the beat shine, followed by the red (next to it) and the greenish ones (cal jade) at the other end. Just put rest of quartz, blue and green into 500 and started what i think will be my fav - lepard - in 60/90.
