Disclaimer Alert ๐: I apologize in advance if this is a way too basic question but after weeks of thinking about this have decided to just ask...
Good Morning All: Sorry no photos yet --I know everybody likes to see specimens-- at least I do. That said, I have seen a few very interesting pebbles that have been naturally "sanded" down by the course sand and surf at my beach. Some have shapes very similar to cabecons many of you display. In the wet mode, they have pretty details that stand out. My gut instinct--based on sanding wood working projects (another hobby๐) is that these pebbles --already very smooth-- might be able to be fast tracked to some kind of a Matt to semi-shine in a vibe machine. I say this because the shape is already there. I "think" the reason the details are less obvious when dry is because of fine scratches on the surface. Have any of you "fast tracked" smooth beach pebbles directly into vibe? If so, what grit did you start with? I have been studying a lot of identification of rocks lately in light of not having a workshop here at vacation residence (think my siblings would kill me if I set up a shop here). I "think" that these pebbles are oolitic limestone, petrified wood. I apologize for no photos--- I have tried the recommended websites for transferring photos and have encountered glitches in which their technicians have yet to find solution. I am now in the research phase of possibly creating my own website. So, since I used so many words (might have been a story teller in previous life-- )๐ I end my query with my question again--- Have any of you "fast tracked" smooth beach pebbles directly into vibe? If so, what grit did you start with? Not trying to take shortcuts-- sometimes certain steps not necessary--does it apply here? Thank you! Respectfully Blue
