Are you disappointed? I would be... however- I still see some nice cabs and I actually like that orangy color a lot. You'll probably want to get your art resin out for that.
Did you get it on eBay? There's a bit of a learning curve buying slabs on eBay. Lots of good guys, but some are a little too free with photoshop.

OMG! Evan, that dang slab arrived BACKWARDS! Gorgeous looking piece! What're your plans with it? ETA - It doesn't appear to be as yellow along the top as the original pic... The other side is more yellow to be fair

I was super happy when I opened it. It is a nice piece. But upon comparing the 2 pictures, I can see he cranked the exposure up.

Well Jason I can see a row of cabs along the bottom. What would you do with it?

Well Jason I can see a row of cabs along the bottom. What would you do with it? I think this might be a piece that I would try to stabilize it before cabbing it...if that would work to fill in the pitted areas. It just seems like it would yield more cabs if that center area was useable. If that wouldn't work, I'd try to get a line of cabs both along the bottom as well as the top...

Anyone ever tried Bondo on a slab? Hahaha! Maybe drywall mud would work or construction adhesive

It’s interesting. Patterns are important but I look for contrast in color as well as patterns. I’m just saying that $20 shipped for a 7.5” x 5” slab of bumblebee is way too low As cabbing material, yield is more important than size. Yield is how many really good preforms from the piece. As a collector slab, size and overall appearance determine value. When I buy a slab it is as cabbing material and don't look at the overall size of overall pattern. I look for patterns that have the potential to make really good preforms. Selling photos can be misleading because of the size in addition to photoshop. On an expensive slab, I will copy and paste the picture into paint and reduce so it shows as actual on my screen.

stardiamondThis piece is good enough I could sell 6 - 8 prime cabs even without treating the sulfur vugs. I will pay for this slab many times over using your method of quality preforms.

I'm not being negative about your purchase of the slab; only pointing out my methodology. I have a few goals when selecting a preform; that I will be able to complete the cab, I would enjoy working on it and someone might be willing to buy it. Selling cabs is competitive and work needs to stand out at the price point I am targeting.

It's the pitting that would devalue it for me. And it was seemingly rather artfully concealed in the original image by increasing its brightness and saturation. I like Bumblebee and am not at all afraid to cab it but I see very little offered by mail I'd be interested in buying.

Assuming color correct photo, how mush is this slab worth? Thanks in advance! You know...no one has bothered addressing your original question...so I will guess it's worth about 37 bowls of mush!

Haha!! I’ve been tempted to fix it a few times but was too lazy!! I thought it was pretty funny. I have a bad habit of interchanging the "S" and the "C" when I'm typing words...I mean I sonstantly do it on cimple words I know the cpelling of!

I cut a lot of bumble bee, do not worry about the pits. Cut your performs out, put on sun for a hour. Then use hot stuff to fill in the pits. When done you will never know it has pits.
By the way it's a nice slab

And we don’t have sun here, so I do oven at 170° for preheat.
