Is there a thread for buying rocks as I can't find one. I live in UK and our rocks are rubbish so would like to buy some rocks people have collected and don't want. Thanks everyone

eBay, just go to rough rocks for tumbling. Agate rough is also a great place to find rocks

Shipping will Be the pits. #Truth. I made one sale to the UK, where the buyer was willing to pay the crazy shipping. Then, to add to that, there was a weight limit, so I couldn't even fill the FRB, and, on top of all that, the buyer had to pay a customs fee.

Greetings and Welcome from Scotland, the Nat Geo tumbler kits leave much to be desired at best the polish is Aluminum Oxide, but not polish just 1200 grade pre-polish, if you want rocks and true Aluminum Oxide polish there are no better than Mineral Craft North in North Yorkshire it is expensive and there only 1 oz (28.5Grams) I have personally bought around 200kg (440lb) of rocks. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1022550

Thanks for the information. It’s so hard to know who is reputable.

Thanks everyone I found a few nice rocks along the Western Scottish Highlands in the fall :-) Nothing like an agate or fancy crystals, but they'll always remind my of one of my all-time favourite trips :-)

deerock: Most traders through out the world are reputable, however some are slow at box shipping and communication leaves a lot to be desired, however their product knowledge is usually A1, others their product knowledge is non-existant, but very fast shippers.

rookstormThere was a very active member named Ian here a few years ago. He found some very attractive agates in the UK. If my memory serves, they were Scottish agates. I haven’t seen him posting recently. His tag handle was iant.
