gneiss strol  jase long view can't explain the geology buute the badlands have lot in common w/ the painted desert hope to visit one for the first time  and other for another time keep on! |

Those are some fantastic looking finds! The first rock picture is very cool. It looks sort of like a thunderegg that got swallowed by a prairie agate. The 4th rock pic is also pretty cool. Is that mossy? I can't quite tell in the photo, but it is certainly unique.

I thought about you a couple times today. I was just practicing on and off today for when I found a Fairburn...which NEVER happened! LOL - Someone found a nice one yesterday (and big!). Of course they've changed the weather forecast once again...now we've got a stretch supposed to be in the high 50s again for a week. I'll check it again tomorrow...maybe it'll change to something in the 80s! LOL |

As far as I know, they're all categorized with the very commonplace name of "Prairie Agate"...I've never heard of them being differentiated in any way due to locale... I think they should be...because some Prairie Agates are actually jasper...and others are actually chert...and not actually agates. |
