I just purchased from Market Place a Richardson Dry High Speed sander, it's in like new shape, looking forward to using it. Been reading and watching videos on how to use the sander safely, but one question I have is where can I find sandpaper that will work for rocks. I'm needing 7" x 5/8 arbor. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Chris.

Johnson Bros. Has this sand paper on the website. Richardson Ranch also sells it. Please be careful sand the rock not your hand and keep the dust out of your lungs!!

Thanks for the replies, I guess the only way to buy from Richardson Ranch is to call them, didn't see any order forms on their web page. Thanks again, Chris.

These are very common sanding discs if you live in a major city you can probable find them at retail and save the shipping. I think they are used on common floor sanders. A friend does 1000s of agates a year on one of these and gets great results. You have to be very careful and taper the edges of the rock a bit. If you catch an edge on the sanding disk at 3600 rpm all holy hell will break loose and rock and sand paper will go everywhere. Many rock clubs have removed these from there shops because danger to the operators and others in the room.

If you buy floor sanding discs mane sure they are Silicon Carbide, not Aluminum Oxide. I used to get them from Rons Rocks on ebay, he had the best prices. Check Kingsley North too, they have good sales on adhesives. (edit: ABRASIVES)

The HS sanders were removed from the Mt Hood club shop, fortunately after a good exhaust system was installed, that is now used for saw oil mist. Went through far too many bandaids for finger cuts with the HS sanders.
