Does anyone have any experience with CigarBoxRock Lapidary? I'm considering placing an order and I'm not familiar with them.

Yes. We've bought a couple different pieces of equipment and also rocks. I think we also bought a replacement piece from them. We have never had a problem. They are good folks. I think they're also RTH members.

cigarboxrock is a member here, though rarely posts. They have helped numerous members with old lapidary equipment. You can use the search box and look them up in the archives.

I bought at two different times some replacement hoods for old HP saws. Top of the line quality and customer service. They even hauled one of the hoods for me to Quartzite to save on shipping.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. If I do decide to order, I can do it now with confidence.

I work at CigarBoxRock, we have had a tough year (2023) as we were forced by the Oregon Department of Transportation to move the business (and our buildings!) to make way for the New HWY 97 realignment project. We are now very close to being back into the main buildings. We are still selling Lortone Tumbler Parts from our eBay store. We regret have been unable to take on outside repair projects due to the move. We hope to be able to return to that soon. We still want to offer support to the lapidary community and we have many hard to find parts as well as great vintage equipment for sale. Thank you to all the members of this forum for your past suport and your recommendations and nice comments! Rock On Everyone!

I remember the videos posted on social media when the building was moved, pretty slick.

They might be a bit slower than some people. It’s not their main bread and butter thing, I think it’s a side gig they do. But my personal experience with them is first rate all the way through. Everything happens exactly how they say it will, and the items show up when they’re supposed to. 2 thumbs up from here.
