Hello from TN! I purchased a new Thumbler UV-18 vibratory tumbler about 3 months ago. It has been doing an amazing job finishing my rocks to a high luster. BUT - for the latest group of rocks, when I start the tumbler, the motor just hums and the shaft does not move. In order to get it vibrating, I have the manually spin the weight at the bottom of the shaft many times before it kicks into regular vibration and spinning. What gives? Lack of lubrication? Once it gets going it hums along for hours. But getting it started spinning is taking longer and longer. I don’t want to blow the motor. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

1. Have a picture? It is my understanding that they have recently changed the motor manufacturer and perhaps the style due to the global supply chain shortages that are to blame for just about everything now.
2. Do not hesitate to contact them, they are very friendly and helpful. I've never had a problem with their tumblers (we have a UV-10 along with an AR-2 and a couple of Model B's) but I did have some questions about their UV-18 and 45, sent me the info within the hour. Seemed like good people. 1-800-225-1017.
