Really enjoying the work, Jason, great cabs! Thanks for posting the photos! Thanks Paul! I really like the color patterns in that quartz in matrix...and I might have to fiddle a little with my process to see if I can get a better polish on these. jasoninsd -- I wasn't disputing the unakite ID. In fact, it looks very possible. Just saying it's not the same-ole, same-ole. Well it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong on IDing something! LOL - I did contact Jesse and he confirmed he believed it was Unakite...Epidote and Feldspar. BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for sharing. They are spectacular. Thanks so much! I know how lucky I am to have gotten some pretty cool material.

jasoninsd aka metamorphically altered granite, so it also has some quartz.

Hello: wow... I really enjoy looking at the works of art you all put up. I really like 4-- it looks like lower right a bouquet of roses. And I like number 7... the color and it is kind of cool all of the "faces " I see... Blue

jasoninsdThey’re all great Jason. That bridge over the druzy area in photos 8 and 9 is pretty cool. I can’t believe that didn’t break. Your polish looks amazing.

I still have a few more pieces of that particular West Texas Plume...and it does NOT get boring seeing what shows up in this material. jasoninsd They’re all great Jason. LOL - I actually was trying to grind it all the way off at first...in order to expose the whole druzy area. However, the more it held, I realized I DIDN'T want it to go away...so I'm glad it held. I suppose it was meant to be.

Here's the cabs I finished up last night... Not sure how these slipped by me until now. As for the cabs themselves, you seem to create very consistently shaped and well domed cabs, so they look great as always. Not much else to say about them except I like the template shapes in #11 and #12! #3 & #4 are the kind of unakite that I like the most -- the kind that looks like granite. In my tumbling experience at least, it is also the kind with the most surface pitting. I might be able to see a tiny but of undercutting in #3, but they look really good, better than my tumbles of similar material. The plume agates are an explosion of color and I respect your bravery with the druzy bridge! If you eventually wrap it, I hope whoever ends up wearing is at a necklace is as careful as you were when cabbing it. All of the Brazilians are nice. #12 would have been my favorite, if not for that insanely beautiful plume agate! It is unlike anything I have ever seen from Brazil. That doesn't mean much since I've only been rock obsessed for a few years now, but I don't think I've seen a single plume in any Brazilian agate. That rock is like a dense, Amazon jungle of amazing plumes. So what are you cabbing plans? Are you going to keep working through your 1000+ preforms, or do you plan to switch back and forth between cabbing and wrapping? If you do any wrapping between now and Christmas, I'd still like to have you wrap one of two of my cabs for Christmas presents if you are interested. I can offer a few nice slabs in return, although with 1000+ preforms, you may not be too excited about more slabs.

I can offer a few nice slabs in return, although with 1000+ preforms, you may not be too excited about more slabs. Thanks Jonathan! Number 11 was a template shape that I had to alter a little...and number 12 is one of the template shapes I use a lot. I think I need some more templates! LOL I probably have 5-6 more preforms of that plume agate...and I agree with you about the explosion of color! I love these! That bridge is more stable than it looks. I didn't back too far off on the pressure when I was sanding/polishing it, so it should stay in place from normal wearing...I would think! LOL Yeah...that Brazilian Plume is definitely a major surprise. I started thinking maybe it wasn't a Brazilian because of everyone's surprise...but the "matrix" cuts and polishes just like the other Brazilians I've been working...and I trust the source from whence it came... I was planning on starting wrapping again...it's just a matter of making the choice to do it rather than cabbing. LOL - I'm definitely still willing to wrap your cabs for you. And was that a serious question about me wanting more material?? LOL - Of course I'm always wanting (read that as needing! LOL) more material! I'll send you a PM.
