This is the first cab I have cut (of many) that refused to polish. However, I really like the matte shine. Somehow, it really works. This wrap sat in my box for about 2 months waiting for me to finish it. I chose to do it like this because the shape seems Arabesque to me and it is Turkish, after all. The pattern in the stone seems to give it age, so I wanted to go with something that suggested it could be from another time. I didn't do a sketch to post.
I tweaked it a little after I took the picture. Wish tweaking cabs after pictures was so easy! LOL!

It's perfect, Tela. I didn't even notice the polish until you mentioned it. The setting is awesome. The little dangling bit of chain maille reminds me of a belly dancer's ankle or waist chain jewelry. I do wish Turkish jade wasn't dug out and so hard to get. And, yes, given that it's often impure, the jade polishing tricks don't always work....  But, then again, it's purple.  |

Beautiful!  I really like the "bell" addition at the bottom...and I'll agree with stephan's assessment of a belly dancer's accoutrement. |

Yes, It can be tough to find. There's a guy on eBay selling bright purple "Turkish Jade". Yeah, right, Dude. I've seen a lot of it and it is never bright purple, however, if it were, I wouldn't complain because, you know... purple. |
